dThis movie tells about 2 people who are forced to live time-limited lives. The two protagonists are initially not friends, because they are completely different. If Martin, a heavy smoker, is more active, then Rudi, a health-caring person, is more passive. However, facing death, both become friends during their journey. They make a foolhardy rush to the ocean, because Rudi had never seen the ocean. Martin says that in the heaven, all people will talk about the ocean, how it looks, and about the colorful sunrise and sunset that can be observed only above the ocean.
dOn the way to the ocean, not having anything, they steal a car, in which they find a lot of money. However, the car's owners are hooligans. To get their money back, two stupid villains chase them. Through their journey to the ocean, the two protagonists experience many funny events and get into trouble with many people. Finally, like the hooligans, the entire police chases them. It is funny to see Rudi and Martin, how they escape from the danger and how they make their way to the ocean, while the nonsensical actions of others add to this exciting and fateful journey.

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days

Andie Anderson, a 'how-to-girl' columnist of composure megazine, has to write an article about the things women do to be dumped by their boyfriends. In addition, her senior says to Andie that she has to go through those situation personally. Therefore, she has to find a guy, get him to fall in love with her, then make many mistakes when ther are having date. Unfortunately, her target is Benjamin Barry, who is an ad agent, and he bets with his boss that he can make her(Andie) to fall in love with him in 10 days. However, both of them don't know about the situation they are in. In other words, Andie tries to be dumped while Benjamin struggles to make her to fall in love. What's ganna happen to the lovely couple?

The movie 'How to lose a guy in 10 days' was released in 2003. It was directed by Donaldo Petrie, and the main actor and actrees were Kate Hudson(Andie Anderson), and MAtthew McConauhey(Benjamin Barry). Those main chracters not only act pretty well but also look so lovely, and those are the reasons why I like this movie so much. In addition, there are many funny episodes in the movie, because Andie is making many mistakes intentionally while they are dating, and those scenes make you laugh a lot.

The Beast and the Beauty

Dong-geon is not a handsome guy. He is a dubbing artist, doing voices of monsters in animation. He has a lover, named Hae- ju, who is blind but pretty. He does everything for her hands and feet. One day, when she is anxious about his appearance, instead of his ugly face with a scar, he describes his face as that of Jun-ha, who was the most handsome student during his high school years.





and here it comes an inciting incident that changes Dong-geon's life.


Hae-ju has an operation and recovers her eyesight.


Dong-geon becomes very nervous and anxious because he doesnt want to disappoint Hae-Ju about his looks. Finally, Dong-geon is brave enough to go to the hospital to meet Hae-Ju. From that moment, a hillarious tragedy begins--Hae Ju doesn't recognize him. Consequently, Dong Geon tells a lie that he is a friend of Dong-geon. And his lying continues.



This movie is a comedy, and as most comedies do, it also makes satires about today's society. It is criticizing the modern civilians who excessively put importance in one's apperance.

When Romance Meets Destiny

This is a romantic comedy about two brothers who have very different philosophies about love.

Gwang-sik, the older brother, is very passive and shy; he can't always confess his love for his lover and hides when a rival appears although he has been in love with her for 10 years. Gwang-tae, who is 7 years younger than Gwang-sik, has met 70 times as many girl friend as his elder brother. He's the playboy and has his own dating policies---"don't sleep with a woman more than 12 times." He sticks to his own free style about life and love. They have one thing in common; they both never have said "I love you." Gwang-sik is because he was too shy to say that and Gyeong-tae never loved anyone although he has dated 70 women.

It is quite funny to see how these two guys are different throughout the movie. Gwang-sik fails to be with his lover, as he blows up some chances due to his passive character. On the other hand, Gwang-tae, intending to meet a slender woman, participates in the marathon race and he falls for the sexy Gyeong-jae there. A few days later, he meets her again and begins a hot and cool love affair with her. He is tormented by his policy that he should break up with her before sleeping with her a 12th time, but Gyeong-jae first bids farewell. Though he should be happy about her farewell, his feelings about her are unusually serious.

Leslie Nielsen and Charlie Sheen

I like to introduce my favorite comedy movie actors. They are Leslie Nielsen and Charlie Sheen.

Leslie Nielsen was born February 11, 1926. And is still on acting. He wasn't a comdey actor from the start. Suprprisingly he worked as a disc jockey before in was in the film busyness. And in the late 1940s, he began performing on stage. Aftrer that he was in movies and on televisions, as a doctor, lawyer, or police officer. And finally started as a funny and wacky doctor in "Airplane!".

Althought it was not main act, but it was his ticket to comedy moives. From then on he acted on many comedic films like sitcom Police Squad, Naked Gun movies. And comedic act countinued in films like Spy Hard(1996), Wrongfully Accused etc, and also on television series. He still act in variety of films.

Charlie Sheen was not a comedy actor, too. He appeared first on film at nine, and started as a actor in 1984 as supporing roles on movies. And got major role in Platoon, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Young Guns and The Rookie so on. These movies were far from comedy. Platoon was a Vetemis war movie, and Young Guns was western shoot out, also The Rookie was a cop movie.

His first appearence in comdey movies was Major League. Followed by Money Talks and the Hot Shots!. Recent Movie he shot was Scary Movie 4. And he acted in some Television Series like sitcoms Spin City and Two and a Half Men which was a success.

Why are these two my favorite comedy actors, other then like Jim Carrey or Adam Sandler? The main reseson is the movies they were in ('Naked Gun' series and 'Top Gun!') was the best comedy movies I have had ever seen. And I don't think any other actors can do better then them.

And What makes those movies so great? Because they are spoof movies. Or in other word parody movies. But the down side is, for example Charlie Sheen's movies like Young Guns or Platoon is not funny movie. But it alway remind me of the comedy moives he was in so its hard to be serious. But on the other hand, I think that's the best part of spoof movies. They make you laugh all the time.

Naked Gun (1988)

The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! is the one of the most famous comic parody movie which was released on 1988. Naked Gun was originated from the TV series 'Police Squad'. The main character Lieutenant Frank Drebin was acted by Leslie Nielsen who also acted in the TV series 'Police Squad'.

The movie is mainly about a hardnosed cop Frank Drebin seeking vengeance of his partner and foil an attempt to assassinate Queen Elizabeth II. All through the movie its none stop parody comic action.

This movie is one of the best comidy movie I have ever watched. Movie was a hit and had 2 more sequel 'Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear' (1991) and 'Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult' (1994). But the first of the series was the best and was chosen in '1001 movies you must see before you die'. '

'Dumb and Dumber'

'Dumb and Dumber' is a legendary comedy movie which was released in 1994. Unlike other American comedies that are difficult for Korean people to understand because of their cultural difference, this movie was popular among Koreans also. It contains lots of slapstick comedies that are really funny. I and my sister liked this so much and watched it for more than ten times together.

This movie is starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels and as you already know, Jim Carrey is known as one of the best comedy actors. They play unintelligent characters, and those two go on a trip from Rhode Island to Aspen. This movie is about the happening during their trip.

Dumb and Dumber made Jim Carrey rise to stardom. Although the film did not come away with any major American motion picture awards, it was very successful at the MTV Movie Awards. Jim Carrey won for Best Comedic Performance, Carrey and Lauren Holly(a couple who would later endure a short-lived marriage) won for Best Kiss, and Jim Carrey & Jeff Daniels were nominated for Best On-Screen Duo.

People usually get pretty much stress from their life and laughter could be a good remedy for the stress. If you want a movie that could blow away all of your stress, I recommend you to watch 'Dumb and Dember'. - written by HS

Goodbye, Lenin! - a tragicomedy

d ‘Goodbye, Lenin' was directed by Wolfgang Becker, a German director. In Germany, more than 6 million people flocked to the theaters to see this movie, and people from both the east and west enjoyed it. It also won 9 prizes in 2003, including the 'Deutscher Filmpreise' award for the categories best movie, best director, and best actor. The story is about a family living in the communist eastern part of Germany throughout the years of change and reunification, called "die Wende" in German. The movie deals with the nuances between truth and deception, while portraying life after the reunification in a very humorous and also dramatic way. It is a tragicomedy, in that tragedy and comedy both are interconnected, contributing to a very emotional and riveting outcome. The story moved me because of its touching scenes and its humor, but the biggest reason why I am a fan of this movie is that I am a student whose major is German culture. It is also particularly relevant to the situation of us who live in the last divided nation on earth.
dThe story follows the members of a family living on the eastern-side of Berlin split into two by the Berlin Wall. Christiane Kerner, the mother of Alexander Kerner and a staunch supporter of the East German government, coincidentally sees her son participate in an anti-government demonstration and breaks down. While she is in a coma, the Berlin wall falls and the two nations unify. She wakes up, and the family is happy, but a slight shock can be fatal in her unstable condition, so Alex decides to withhold the truth about the collapse of East Germany from her. With his friend's help he manufactures news broadcastings and goes through other various difficulties to give her the impression that she still lives in a socialist state until the moment she dies happily in the presence of her family. Seeing Alexander's touching efforts to protect his mother from the reality makes me laugh. At the same time, however, it also makes us think about our unification.

40 Days and 40 Nights

Matt who heartbroken with his last relationship, knows at the same time that he is obsessed with his ex-girlfriend, Nicole. His obsession makes it impossible for him to have relationships with other women. Then comes Lent, the period of time where everybody gives up something so Matt tells his brother that he's going to have no sex for 40 days and 40 nights. No touching, no kissing, no fooling, no self-gratification. This of course with a momentum where, Erica the women of his dreams walks into his life. He is unable to explain his abstinence to her but she finds out by a site set up by Matt's co-workers who made a bet on him. Erica tries to forget about the stupid bet but realises the night they go out to a restaurant and meets by chance Matt's ex, that she can tell Matt's bet was all about his breakup with Nicole. This film has an unrealistic storyline as no such men will think about doing such sacrifice, and also this film does conclude for both Matt to fail his mission and his brother who is training to become a priest, giving up to temptation. What matters is the process for this guy to test himself his limits and the boundaries in all relationship, which makes it so sweet, like the time of touching versus the heart pounding time of sex appeal, which was so hilarious as a public to document on Josh Harnett. Fortunately, the women character who is visualised as more soft hearted will give another chance to this guy, or even maybe say recompenses him to have tried to fight and challenge his "male instincts". Nevertheless, a good passionate kiss is the best full stop for a romantic comedy.

Leaving his native Kazakhstan, Borat travels to America to make a documentary. As he zigzags across the nation, Borat meets real people in real situations with hysterical consequences. His backwards behavior generates strong reactions around him exposing prejudices and hypocrisies in American culture.

The main actor of this movie, Sacha Baron Cohen, is the host of the English TV show, Da Ali G. Show, and he is really a famous comedian in America and England. As you can notice with the title of this movie, “Borat” is the story about the character of Borat himself, and Sacha Baron Cohen acts very well as if he were a real Kazakh man. For this reason, he was nominated as a best comedian actor by the movie, “Borat”.

The genre of “Borat” is comedy. There are many scenes that are too sex-appealing or too salty, however, you may giggle all the time while you watching it. In addition, the interesting thing is that while the movie “Borat” is parodying the American culture, it was one of the most popular movies in America when it was released. I watched it in America, and all the American friends were crazy about this movie.

Scary movie (2000)

"Scary movie" may sound like horror, but its genre is actually comedy, or maybe the combination of horro and comedy. Its first episode was released in 2000 in Hollywood. This movie was directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans and Carmen Electra and Dave Sharidan starred in this movie. It awarded seven wins and five nominations.

Scary movie is a parody of modern horror films about a group of teenagers who are being terrorised by a serial killer. Some of the send-ups include: "Scream", "I Know What You Did Last Summer", "The Blair Witch Project", "The Sixth Sense" and "The Matrix." It is based on making people laugh at how stupid the characters are and how stupid we are in being amused by such persiflage.
